Astrocartography is a method of analysis that projects the positions of the planets in a natal chart onto a map of the world. Developed in the 1970s by the American astrologer Jim Lewis, it seeks to identify regions of the Earth where a person’s planetary influences are considered particularly active. Each line on the map corresponds to a place where a planet was angularly dominant at the moment of birth. Astrocartography is often used as an approach to better understand the relationship between individuals and particular territories. It thus combines astrology, cartography, and the symbolic interpretation of places.

As noted in an article by National Geographic, “astrocartography has entered the mainstream as travelers search for meaning-driven experiences.” Its growing popularity is partly linked to mass tourism and digital nomadism. Practitioners use it to explore locations considered favorable for travel, work, relationships, or personal development.

Symplanicity is likewise motivated by a search for meaning, but for now there is no known method that would allow astrocartography to be used to validate the alignments or spatial configurations presented on this site. If this type of research interests you, please contact us.
